Naturalization and Residency Department sponsors Tamkeen

Dubai Naturalization and Residency Department (DNRD) announced today its sponsorship of Tamkeen, the Dubai based non-profit centre specialized in providing professional training to the visually impaired.

DNRD will financially support Tamkeen and will offer job opportunities to its graduates.

The sponsorship agreement was signed by Brigadier Saeed Matar Bin Belailah, Director of Naturalization and Residency Department and Dr. Abdullah Al Karam, Manager of Tamkeen.

As per the signed agreement, Dubai Naturalization and Residency Department will participate in securing the necessary funds for the non-profit centre, enabling Tamkeen to achieve its mission of empowering the visually impaired individuals through training, support and consultancy.

Inline with its commitment towards the local community and the visually impaired individuals in particular, DNRD will also offer job opportunities to graduates of Tamkeen.

Commenting on the agreement, Brigadier Saeed Matar Bin Belailah said:
"The Dubai Naturalization and Residency Department is keen to provide better services through continuous advancement and enhancement of the quality of service it provides. We include providing quality services to persons with special needs as one of the benchmarks to measure our performance and evaluate the quality of our services."


"The administration focuses on developing the awareness of the employees about the best methods of handling the requirements of individuals with special needs. Our cooperation with Tamkeen will bring us up to speed with the best practices in that regard and will help us to offer better services for the visually impaired," Bin Belailah explained.

Dr. Abdullah Al Karam, Director of Tamkeen praised DRND's commitment towards the visually impaired and said, "We are grateful to the Dubai Naturalization and Residency Department for their tremendous support, weather through funding or by providing job opportunities for Tamkeen graduates."

"Tamkeen provides top of the line training courses customized to enable visually impaired individuals to sharpen their professional skills. This enhances their chances of successfully integrating in the society as contributing and independent individuals," Dr. Al Karam explained.

Dr. Abdulla Al-Karam also expressed his hope that other leading national organizations will follow the example set by DRND in supporting the visually challenged individuals.

Founded by the directives of H.H. Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, Tamkeen is the first specialized centre for visually impaired training and support in the UAE. Professional support provided by the centre covers various areas including; IT training, soft communication skills, language courses and corporate staff training.
