Ahmed Khalil, Toshiba general manager for the Middle East and Africa acknowledges the positive result with an unchanged determination to continue the hard work and consolidate the already strong team of both Toshiba employees and key channel partners across the region.
"Toshiba is confirming its stronghold on the market and a solid position within the top three vendors in the Middle East," comments Khalil. "This year we have already made headway and we are confident that we can maintain our target of continuous growth over average market share.
"In addition, Toshiba's current quarterly growth trend of over 100 per cent over 2005 will be maintained for the whole of 2006. It will all be down to the quality of the products and the reliability of the distribution network and we are confident that Toshiba can make the crucial difference there."
Toshiba's performance was particularly strong in important markets like Saudi Arabia where the company experienced a staggering 185 per cent growth; and the rest of the Middle East, where the vendor is firmly in the top spot with 19.1 per cent of the market share.
The company recognises the importance of its channel partners performing particularly well in those key markets and strives to ensure that they always share in Toshiba's success.
In 2006, success will be driven both in the consumer and B2B sector through the promotion of existing differentiated technologies - Qosmio and Easyguard - and the continuous innovation that Toshiba is renowned for.
