Compared to its predecessor, the HDR-HC1, the new HDR-HC3 is 26% more compact, packed with easy-to-use features and is more affordable.
"High definition is gaining popularity in the Middle East and this is evident from the success of our recently launched HD-ready BRAVIA LCD TVs, which currently enjoys No. 1 position in the region. Consumers who have experienced the picture quality of BRAVIA at shop fronts or at their homes, are now used to its irresistibly attractive high definition picture quality. People now want the same 'wow factor' for their own home movies," said Mr. Masaru Tamagawa, Managing Director of Sony Gulf FZE.
"With HDR-HC3, having shrunk our high definition camcorder both in size and price, we want to make sure that our mainstream consumers have access to high definition for their personal home videos without a movie studio budget," added Tamagawa.
Weighing just 510g, the HDR-HC3 using the HD Codec Engine, records in 1080 effective scanning lines, twice as many compared to Standard Definition and captures 4 times more video information on every single minor detail for an amazing viewing experience on a High Definition TV. Its multi-connectivity HDMI (High-Definition Multimedia Interface) connects to any digital visual interface devices like a television or a home theatre system with the same cable, to enable instant high quality video and sound reproduction.
Advanced Technology Brings Advanced Features
The HDR-HC3 model features a professional-quality Carl Zeiss® Vario-Sonnar® T* lens and Sony's new ClearVid CMOS Sensor™ technology. This imager is engineered to boost picture resolution and clarity to deliver vivid colors and precise image detail. Combined with Sony's Enhanced Imaging Processor™, it provides new and fun-to-use functions.
The camcorder shoots four-mega pixel still images, stored on an optional Memory Stick PRO Duo™ media card, for easy transfer between compatible devices.
The Dual Record function of this camcorder allows you to shoot video and simultaneously capture high resolution (2.3 mega pixel) still images in the high definition (16:9) mode. You can also record slow motion video using the model's Smooth Slow Record function, which plays back three seconds of video in 12 seconds -- ideal for analyzing your golf swing or tennis back-hand.
High Definition Made Easy
This new model incorporates a number of convenient, easy-to-use features that are ideal for first-time camcorder users and those new to high-def recording.
It has a user-assignable dial that can be set to the most regularly-used options for greater ease of recording. It includes Sony's distinctive Easy Handycam button that, when pressed, locks out advanced features on the camcorder, leaving only the buttons essential for recording on the menu.
For quick framing and easy image sharing, the camcorder has a 2.7-inch touch panel SwivelScreen™ LCD featuring Sony's new Clear Photo LCD plus™ technology. The LCD produces bright images with high-contrast that are easy to view in virtually any environment and at any angle.
Other helpful features include Super SteadyShot® image stabilization, a built-in microphone for excellent audio quality, an intelligent built-in flash for well-exposed still images, and a supplied Info Lithium® P battery for up to 90 minutes of continuous recording.
The Handycam HDR-HC3 is available at all Jumbo showrooms and other select electronics' outlets in the UAE. Optional accessories will include lights, lenses, microphones, Info Lithium® batteries, chargers and cables.
