Tameer Holding, the region's leading real estate firm, recently commenced the process of rough grading the area that will soon play host to one of the region's most advanced cities.

With this early phase of the development estimated to be completed before the end of the year, AlSalam City promises to be a metropolis that will revolutionize the quiet landscape of Umm Al Quwain; providing a world-class infrastructure supporting numerous suburban neighborhoods, business districts and a large 'Down Town' entertainment area.

'We have a long road ahead of us, so I am pleased that we have begun these preliminary stages of construction' said Ali Al Khudairi, CEO of Tameer Holding. 'AlSalam City is symbolic of the continued advancement of the UAE as a whole and comes after a long line of innovative developments that continually push back the boundaries of what is considered possible.'

Spanning an area of approximately 220 million square feet, this residential and commercial development has been critically praised as an architectural triumph and is the first of its kind for the emirate. At a cost exceeding USD 8.3 billion, the groundbreaking development is situated between the Emirates Road and the Pan-Emirates Road currently under construction. Designed to house up to half a million residents with an area that will include parks, playgrounds, entertainment centers and cable car facilities, AlSalam City's futuristic design has drawn much international attention from foreign investors and is expected to greatly enhance the position of Umm Al Quwain on the international map.

'The estimated time for the completion of the rough grading is six months, and akin to the recently completed Emirates Modern Industrial Area, we envisage that our schedule for the fruition of this entire project will go according to plan. By 2020 Umm Al Quwain is going to be an Emirate that can rival any other location throughout the Eastern and perhaps even the Western Hemisphere.'

Formed through a strategic partnership between Al-Rajhi Investment Group & Tameer Property Establishment, Tameer Holding had entered the thriving UAE property market with the world's tallest tower "Princess Tower", located in Dubai Marina, the Dana 1 & Dana 2 projects in International City, Al Shahd in the International City, Al Diyad in Dubai Silicon Oasis, The Regal Tower in Business Bay, AlSalam City in Umm Al Quwain, and Al Ameera Village in Ajman. Today, the firm's investment portfolio in the market totals AED 40 billion.
