Germans look forward to exploring investment opportunities in Jafza during Emirates-Germany Economic partnership Forum

The Emirates-Germany Economic Partnership Forum, aimed at strengthening trade relations between UAE and Germany, and facilitating increased investments from German companies in Jafza, is being held from May 9 -11, 2006, in the German city of Munich.

The Forum organised, as part of the UAE's efforts to promote business relationships and economic cooperation with the business sectors in Germany, was attended by a diverse spectrum of German companies from the real estate and financial sector, investment parks, as well as government and private sector.

Currently there are over 168 German companies successfully carrying out operations in the free zone. Jafza was represented at the forum by Salma Hareb, CEO of Jafza and Business Parks, Ibrahim Al Janahi, Vice President, Commercial Sales of Jafza, Hamza Al Haddad, Vice President, Marketing, Jafza and Tarek Bin Ghaita, Commercial Sales Manager, Europe region.

The exhibition is hosted 60 pavilions representing government, semi government and private corporations from both the countries, and attracted more than 5000 trade visitors from Germany and the neighboring countries.

The forum hosted a series of trade talks and seminars that discussed ways to boost the flow of investment into UAE, increase the bilateral trade between the countries and to facilitate greater interaction between businessmen from diverse sectors. The event has successfully generated tremendous response from German investors looking to tap into Middle East markets.

While highlighting on the investment opportunities in Dubai and Jafza, Salma Hareb, Jafza's CEO, who attended the forum said,

'Dubai is one of the fastest growing investment and tourist destinations in the world, comprising of all the right elements to make it a premier business hub, and Jafza, with its world class facilities and offerings has successfully attracted a large number of German investors, fostering fruitful trade alliances with the country for many years. Today Jafza is an attractive market for a diverse range of mutually beneficial global business ventures. Through our participation this year, we are confident of continuing this tradition for a long time.'



Jafza, a major supporter of the exhibition, is participating for the second time in the event and is positive of attracting profitable investments from numerous German firms. The Federation of UAE Chambers of Commerce and Industry is the organiser of the forum in cooperation with the Ministry of Economy and Planning, Dubai Chamber of Commerce and Industry, the German Trade and Commerce Office in Dubai and INDEX Conferences and Exhibition Organisation Establishment.

Ibrahim Al Janahi, Vice President, Commercial Sales, who was also present at the forum declared, 'Over the years, Jafza has been targeting investors from many countries and drawing their attention to investing in the free zone. This year, we are partnering with Germany, the largest economy of Europe, which relies on its strength in technology and the quality of its services.

'We are very keen on tapping the country's potential and will continue to provide necessary facilities for new German business ventures in the UAE. Our participation is also in line with our strategy of penetrating new markets in order to bring in more investments into the free zone.'

Jafza has been offering many incentives for easy, secure and profitable investments in the UAE, during the past 21 years. These wide range of superior infrastructure facilities, have encouraged companies from various countries to explore the country's huge business potential.

The UAE-Germany Economic Partnership Forum 2006 signifies a huge volume of trade and economy levels between the two countries, and adds a new dimension to the investment, tourism and cultural progress.
