Sheikha Lubna al-Qasimi visits RTA stand at the Emirates-Germany Economic Partnership Forum 2006

Sheikha Lubna al-Qasimi, UAE Minister of Economy and Planning, Mohammed Ahmed Al Mahmoud, UAE Ambassador to Germany and Abdulrahman Gamin Al Mutaiwey, Director General of DCCI visited the Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) stand yesterday at the Emirates-Germany Economic Partnership Forum 2006 which is being held in Munich, Germany.

The three-day forum which opened yesterday will conclude tomorrow (Thursday, May 11, 2006).

The representatives of the Roads and Transport Authority present at the occasion shared the goals and strategic vision of the RTA with the visiting dignitaries, and highlighted the entity's upcoming projects which revolve around providing an integrated transport network for the emirate.

Abdul Mohsen Ebrahim Younis, CEO of Strategy and Corporate Governance, RTA, presented Sheikha Lubna with a crystal miniature of the Dubai Metro, the most prestigious project undertaken by RTA which is set to revolutionize the transport infrastructure of Dubai.

"Being a newly-established entity, this is the first time that RTA is participating in this forum and we feel this is the right platform for us to project our developments and plans. We are honored with the presence of Sheikha Lubna and are glad to exhibit the projects that the RTA is undertaking which will change the face of Dubai and highlight its presence globally. It was heartening to note the overwhelming response our projects elicited from visitors,"

said Abdul Mohsen Ebrahim Younis.

"Forums such as this help open up opportunities for establishing joint ventures and businesses and thus attract foreign investments to the UAE."

The tourism industry has been a major contributor to the growth of UAE's economy, and there has been a constant increase in the number of German tourists to the UAE. Around 150 UAE government departments and leading companies from the public and private sector have participated in this forum to promote business and elevate investment opportunities.
