Banks warned on credit risk

The governor of the Saudi Arabian Monetary Agency says all banks should have the standardised approach for credit risk put in place by 1 January 2008, according to Arab News. He told a Euromoney conference that a record surge in bank deposits and assets has made such measures imperative. The number of banks operating in Saudi is expected to almost double to 20 by the end of 2006.
