Bird flu vaccine trial

A vaccine for H5N1 bird flu virus has produced a good immune response in healthy volunteers, according to Reuters. The results of tests conducted by Sanofi Pasteur, a unit of the French drug company Sanofi Aventis, were reported online by The Lancet. Dr Melanie Saville, who headed the trial team, said the results were quite encouraging but further research was needed.
