Sheikh Al Qassimi receives the Bassel Fleihan Young Leader's Award

In a ceremony held in Beirut, HH Sheikh Tariq bin Faisal Al Qassimi was presented with the Bassel Fleihan Young Leader's award, in the presence of high ranking political leaders including the Lebanese Prime Minister, Fouad Al Seniora and the parliament member Saad Al Hariri. Speaking of his emirate at the event, Al Qassimi said that Sharjah contains one of the largest industrial production areas in the country, enabling them to participate 48% of the industrial GDP of the UAE, via its 19 industrial areas.

Al Tariq Al Qassimi, the Head of the Economic Department and the Trade and Tourism chairman in Sharjah, stated that whatever growth the Emirate of Sharjah is witnessing in its various economic aspects and its capability in attracting foreign investments, is due to the vision and guidance of HH Dr. Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qassimi, member of the Supreme Council and Ruler of Sharjah.

Al Qassimi said the Emirates witnessed a double digit growth in trade license issuances, inline with the country's economic growth ratios. This growth helped to create new job opportunities and prosperity across the nation. Al Qassimi also recognized the tourism growth which positively contributed to the country's GDP. The promotional programs created a good image for Sharjah to become a clean tourism destination for all the family; a fact reflected in the high record in tourism flow to the emirate.

He was also recognized for his role in promoting Sharjah and the UAE during his continued participation in conferences and forums, where he encouraged stronger regional ties and the adopting of new economic systems and business trends, which are all currently helping to increase the efficiency and credibility of the region.
