Oman changes insurance law

  • Oman: Sunday, May 14 - 2006 at 13:08

The government of Oman is intending to make amendments to its insurance law by Q3, reported the Oman Daily Observer. The changes have already been agreed by the Capital Market Authority but the Cabinet still needs to give its final approval. The government wants local insurance companies to compete in a free market and is likely to adopt the common insurance law for the GCC when that is introduced.
