H.E Mattar Al Tayer visited various sections of DTC including the Call Center that helps customers avail of taxi service within the least possible time, the Training Center which develops the skills of the taxi drivers, and the Suggestions and Comments Center which handles the feedback and suggestions from customers. The visit also included a trip to the four-storied building under construction in Muhaisanah Fourth which will form the new Head Quarters of the DTC once completed in February 2007.
H.E Mattar Al Tayer said, "As a subsidiary of the RTA, the functions of the DTC will be streamlined and will allow all the entities to work towards a common objective of providing an integrated transport network for the people of Dubai. The move will facilitate bilateral exchange of views, helping the organizations identify latent loopholes."
Mohammad Obaid Al Mulla said,
"DTC was merged with RTA following a decree issued by H.H Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of UAE and Ruler of Dubai, to integrate all services related to traffic and transport in the emirate of Dubai. This strategic move will go a long way in easing traffic in Dubai and providing the best transport solutions to the city's residents."
A new building for the headquarters of DTC is under construction in Muhaisanah Fourth and will be completed in February 2007. The building will have a built-up area of 8800 square meters, and will incorporate various departments like the call center, a training center, the HR, IT, Administration and other management functions.
