New UAE blood test introduced

The UAE Minister of Health, Mohammed Al Qutami, announced yesterday that a new method will be introduced in June to test blood that will be used in transfusions. The new technique, known as the NAT method, is used in the USA to detect the Aids virus as well as Hepatitis B and C. The UAE will be the first Arab country to adopt this process.
