Careers UAE 2006 is the country's leading and principal employment event. During the three-day platform ties between industry and the job market are strengthened providing opportunities for young nationals to interact with industry professionals. A total of 140 major UAE employers including 40 banks took part this year, all of whom expressed satisfaction with the response and opportunities generated during the exhibition.
"Careers UAE 2006 witnessed the largest turnout to date. There has been a marked improvement in terms of organization and participating companies displayed a degree of maturity and sophistication unseen in previous years. The level of interest by attendees was extremely high and the quality of applicants including the preparation of CVs, letters of applications and general preparation for the visit to stands was very impressive."
Dubai Bank regards its participation this year as part of its ongoing investment in developing UAE talent. The Bank views its involvement in events like this as part of its overall social responsibility and HR strategy, with the added commitment to help the local community that it serves".
The UAE banking sector is aiming for 50% Emiratization by the end of 2007 as per targets set by the Human Resources Development Committee for the Financial Sector. Currently more than 7,000 UAE nationals, comprising 29% of the total banking sector workforce. The UAE banking industry currently employs the highest number of UAE nationals in the private sector.
The three-day Career Fair at the Dubai International Exhibition Centre was organized by Dubai World Trade Centre in coordination with Tanmia. A record number of 15,500 students, job-seekers and young professionals attended this year's show.
Dubai Bank supports the Emiratization process through initiatives that include long term training programs aimed at HCT and University graduates as well as structural development plans for existing national staff. The Careers Fair was a hugely successful event that generated a lot of interest in the bank's career opportunities. The bank received over 800 CVs and is now processing applicants with the aim of offering a number of jobs to suitably qualified UAE nationals.
