Johnston Lighting, a UK firm operating throughout Europe, has recently set up a Middle Eastern business arm in Dubai offering more than 3,000 lighting products available for 24 hour delivery.

The firm is hoping to capitalise on the forthcoming FM EXPO being held at the World Trade Centre in Dubai from June 4 to 6, to make business contacts in the facilities management sector. They have signed up as the event's platinum sponsor, believing that the show will create vital links between FM providers, developers and suppliers.

Facilities management is the integrated management and maintenance of all types of built environments from commercial towers to oil refineries and hospitals.

Marie Johnston, Managing Director of the firm said: 'We have worked with FM companies across the UK for many years and have found that it's a great way for suppliers like us to do business.

'While FM is a relatively new concept in the Middle East we are anticipating massive growth once developers begin seeing what FM companies can actually do for them.

'The event will be an ideal platform for Johnston Lighting and other building suppliers to build mutually beneficial relationships.'

FM EXPO is being organised by UAE-based event management and marketing specialists, Streamline Marketing Group in conjunction with exhibition organisers dmg world media. The event is also sponsored by MAB Property Service and Development, and AMC Facilities Management Services, and it will be run alongside the Office Exhibition, Hotel Show and the InRetail exhibition, all of which have clear links to facilities management.

Visitors will consist of a wide range of key decision makers, including architects, property developers, building maintenance managers and managing directors. Around 10,000 visitors are expected to attend the four exhibitions running in tandem, and they will have the chance to examine the latest facilities management trends, and developments in the region, during a programme of high quality, educational seminars.
