The new fleet management initiative includes innovative training programs for drivers and operators, use of GPS navigation system, improving and introducing new maintenance techniques, fleet modernization and plans to use natural gas as a cleaner fuel for light vehicles and vans.

"The new fleet management policy we are adopting will substantially contribute to reduction of traffic congestion and environmental pollution," announced Group Vice Chairman, Eng. Yahya Bin Saeed Al Lootah. "At the same time, overall productivity will be enhanced by using dynamic navigation and protective maintenance as a milestone towards intelligent, effective fleet management.'

The new fleet management policy adopted by S.S. Lootah Group resulted from an extensive study over the past 18 months developed in cooperation with Canadian and German experts. The study has proved that using innovative training and maintenance and new traffic navigation system as well as decentralization of fleet management has tremendous financial and environmental benefits.

"The UAE hosts a number of successful international, events and has become one of the world's most popular destinations, it's our duty to adopt policies that support sustainable development in a key sector that supports our country's progress," said Eng. Yahya Lootah.

'We hope that other private companies will take similar initiatives and we will be glad to help provide support and share knowledge to this end," he concluded.
