The visitors attended a half-day briefing, during which they were able to meet with faculty, management members and students and tour the university's current premises in the Seef District.

"The RCSI-MUB welcomes interested parties to familiarize themselves with what we have to offer," said Jo Hinrichsen, Medical Faculty Administrator.

"The university's student body already covers a wide range of nationalities, including many GCC nationals, and we look forward to welcoming even more."

Hinrichsen said that the visitors were impressed with the university's future plans, which include a new permanent campus in Muharraq and addition of new programs such as nursing and pharmacy.

The first phase of the new premises, adjacent to the King Hamad General Hospital which is currently under construction in Muharraq, Bahrain, is expected to be completed in 2007. The new campus will include a state-of-art library, big halls, multi-purposes laboratories and students' accommodation facilities.

The new campus will further bolster the RCSI's presence in the region, making it one of the most advanced medical universities in the region.
