Three major client wins for Memac Ogilvy PR Dubai
- United Arab Emirates: Thursday, May 18 - 2006 at 15:17
- PRESS RELEASE
Memac Ogilvy PR (MOPR) in Dubai is celebrating three new wins in as many months with Royal & SunAlliance, Limitless and Castrol joining the roster of clients.
Limitless, an integrated real estate developer, has just launched and is developing its business across the region and globally. The company will develop its own projects as well as act as a centre of innovation for other Dubai World property companies.
Most recently, MOPR won global lubricant giant, Castrol. MOPR will support Castrol in its trade and consumer marketing activities across the region. This one hundred year lubricant specialist is rolling out its new brand across the region, under the banner of 'It's more than oil. It's liquid engineering'.
"These are significant wins for us not only because of the international nature of these businesses but also because it reflects our own business strategy of expansion across range of industry sectors and services", said Laurence Cook, MOPR, Dubai's new PR Director.
Cook, who returns to Ogilvy after 12 years, has worked in the UK, US, Asia Pacific and Middle East, and was, most recently, Group Head of Practice at WPP-owned, Batey/Red Cell, in Singapore.
His background is multi-disciplinary having worked in corporate and financial public relations and advertising, as well as consumer marketing communications, design and direct marketing. However, the majority of his career has been in the corporate and financial sectors managing issues and crisis communications, investor relations programmes, M&A advisory, IPOs and financial restructuring.
"It has been a busy first few months as we have been working on broadening our offer. Traditionally, we are known for our consumer expertise across a wide variety of brands. That will not change but, we want to build a more balanced business that reflects the changing economic nature of the UAE and the region", Cook said.
Cook aims to further develop the offering at Memac Ogilvy PR, by building practice areas in corporate and financial, healthcare and entertainment to complement the consumer marketing practice, with specialists in each.
"It is ambitious and it probably won't be ready tomorrow but, companies are taking a more integrated approach to managing their communications. If we want to advise them at the most senior levels, we have to make sure we can keep pace," explained Cook.
