Emirates Post presents Innovation award at World Mail Awards 2006

Emirates Post presented the Innovation award to Estonian Post at the prestigious World Mail Awards 2006 which were announced at a gala dinner in Paris recently, in the presence of over 250 senior postal industry executives.

Mr. Abdullah Al Fan, Assistant Director General, Development & Marketing, Emirates Post, presented the award on behalf of Emirates Post. The judges selected Estonian Post for its card transaction via GSM phone payment solution. The other contenders were E-Box for its optimized delivery initiative, Japan Post for its Chilled Yu-Pack business model and UPS Mail Innovations for its Automated Processing System (APS).

'It was indeed a privilege for Emirates Post to stand among major global postal operators and sponsor one of the most coveted categories at the 7th World Mail Awards, the mail industry's premier global honours,' commented Mr. Al Fan. 'At Emirates Post, innovation is the driving force behind all our business activity.'

The other categories were corporate social responsibility (won by Royal Mail Group plc), customer service (South Africa Post Office), e-commerce (Korea Post), people management (Magyar Posta), quality (Q-Post), security (Post Denmark) technology (Korea Post), transformation (La Poste/De Post of Belgium) and industry leadership (Mr. John Potter, Postmaster General & CEO, US Postal Service).
