Etisalat Academy introduces Fixed-Mobile Convergence concept to the region
- United Arab Emirates: Saturday, May 20 - 2006 at 14:49
- PRESS RELEASE
The Etisalat Academy, a business unit of Emirates Telecommunication Corporation - Etisalat, is organizing the first regional Fixed-Mobile Convergence Conference.
Fixed-mobile convergence (FMC) is one of the latest technologies in the telecommunication industry adopted by global service providers. In the near future, it will be possible to make fixed and mobile calls from one handset practically from any location. A converged fixed and mobile service will enable the user to access a variety of communication tools, information and/or entertainment services, with consistent quality of service regardless of the device used, the network over which the applications run or the user's location. An FMC service, whatever its configuration, combines the freedom of mobility with the security, quality of service, higher bandwidth and lower costs of fixed-line services. It is now possible to do this through the use of various networks, either cellular, fixed or WiFi.
Dr. Doaa Fares, General Manager, Etisalat Academy, said: "The Etisalat Academy stays abreast with trends in the world of technology. This conference will offer an opportunity for participants to acquire knowledge of Fixed-Mobile Convergence through the discussions and presentations by international professionals. They can also benefit from witnessing the evolving technology during the post-conference workshop."
Akif Azmirat, Technology Training Manager, Etisalat Academy, said: "This is a revolutionary technology that many will benefit from and will undoubtedly change the world of communications. By accessing the best of both networks, the customer will be able to seamlessly enjoy an integrated experience."
Representatives expected are Telecom Executives, Strategists, Technical and Business Directors, Chief Technical Officers, Policy Makers, Regulators, Financial Analysts, Marketing Executives, Business Developers, Technology Developers, Senior Managers, Consultants, Officers, Engineering staff and others.
