MEMI 2006, a combined initiative taken by the Bahrain Convention and Exhibition Bureau (BCEB), the Ministry of Industry & Commerce, Bahrain Civil Defence and Bahrain Society of Engineers (BSE) and aims to contribute and enhance the integration of the regional measurement and calibration standards to meet international trends.
Held once every two years, this is the 3rd Metrology Conference and Exhibition. After the successful completion of the two previous events in 2002 and 2004 respectively, MEMI has established itself as one of the essential shows in the events calendar of the Kingdom of Bahrain.
The conference will focus on all areas of metrology and in particular highlight the developments made in metrology in recent years. Both the Conference & Exhibition are expected to attract substantial participation from the related field. The Exhibition is expected to provide an excellent opportunity for the manufacturers and service providers to show-case their products and services to their target customers not to mention exchange of ideas from experts from all around the globe.
Besides the wide range of topics being discussed, the conference will also witness expert speakers and leading organisations from the field such as: the National Institute of Standards & Technology (NIST), USA, Organisation Internationale de Metrologie Legale (OIML) and the GCC Standardisation to name a few.
MEMI 2006 primarily aims at bringing related organisations under one roof to discuss the latest technologies and developments in the field of measurement, instrumentation and laboratory. Participants at MEMI 2006 will include some of the biggest names in the industry like, EMERSON Saab Rosemont, Fluke, Abdul Karim Group (NAIZAK), Yokogawa, Mettler Toledo Gmbh, etc.
MEMI 2006 has been sponsored by Saudi Aramco, ALBA, GPIC, Bahrain National Gas Company (Banagas), BAPCO, EMERSON Saab Rosemomt and Yokogawa.
The exhibition will be inaugurated by H.E. Dr Hassan A. Fakhro on Monday, the 29th of May at 9:00 am in Palm Hall at the Bahrain International Exhibition Centre.
The exhibition will remain open to all trade visitors from 10:00 am to 16:00 pm.

Middle East Measurement, Instrumentation & Laboratory Equipment 2006 will be held under the patronage of H.E. Dr. Hassan Abdulla Fakhro, Minister of Industry & Commerce and takes place from Monday, 29th to Wednesday, 31st May 2006 at the Bahrain International Exhibition Centre in conjunction with the 3rd Middle East Metrology Conference & Exhibition.
