Orascom to bid for Saudi licence

Egypt's Orascom intends to bid for the third mobile licence that is due to come up for tender later this year in Saudi Arabia, reported Arab News. But Chairman Naguib Sawiris said that the company does not intend to purchase a big stake due to the anticipated cost of any deal. The Saudi Communications and Information Technology Commission plans to publish the licensing schedule in Q3 and award new licences by the end of Q4.
