The AED one billion Golf Gardens project will be built on the existing Abu Dhabi Golf Club, which is the site of an annual European PGA event. The project is being hailed as one of the most important property and recreational developments in Abu Dhabi.
Golf Gardens consists of 389 luxurious residential villas and town homes. The Gardens Club is situated in the heart of the development, and will feature high-end restaurants, health and fitness centers, swimming pools, tennis and squash courts, in addition to gardens and parks. Pedestrian walkways throughout the project will provide a healthy alternative for residents who wish to access the recreational facilities.
'Sorouh Real Estate utilized the best urban design expertise and construction techniques in bringing this project to Abu Dhabi. Our aim is to develop a project that complements the ambitions and vision of our government as well as the expectations of the public in the UAE,' said Saeed Eid Al Ghafli, Chairman, Sorouh Real Estate, in a speech delivered on his behalf by Mr. Faris Al Yabhouni, Vice Chairman, Sorouh Real Estate.
'Through development of this project, Sorouh aims at providing a modern life style to residents. The development will include a series of villas with a unique design inspired from the surrounding nature, in addition to fulfilling the different lifestyle needs of residents,' he added.
Al Ghafli noted the Golf Gardens project overlooks the Abu Dhabi Golf Club Golf Course, considered one of the best courses in the UAE. The development will continue the recreational and natural themes that the golf course exemplifies.
He added that Abu Dhabi is witnessing a boom in the demand for residential housing units that exceeds the existing supply in the market.
'This boom is expected to continue in the near future, as more new projects and developments are required to serve the needs of our growing population. The new project will play a prominent role in enhancing the reputation of Abu Dhabi as a destination city as it provides the perfect residential accompaniment to the thriving commercial sector.
Abu Dhabi has recently taken major moves to open its economy, especially after passing new laws that allows non-UAE nationals to property in the Emirate.
Al Ghafli concluded his remarks with his sincere appreciation to H.H. Sheikh Khalifa Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the UAE, and H.H. General Sheikh Mohammad Bin Zayed Al Nahyan Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces for their thoughtful guidance and constant support to the development of the national economy. Sorouh plans to take advantage of this healthy and safe investment environment to play a prominent role in the overall development of the country.
Mounir Haidar, CEO Sorouh said that the new project adds big value to the existing profile of Sorouh. He suggested that Golf Gardens will be one of the most sought-after developments in Abu Dhabi as it reflects Sorouh's vision of creating a balance between nature and the requirements of modern urban life.
The project will have an overall area of 347,000 square meters. Work on the project is due to begin on next month and expected to be completed by third quarter of 2008.
