The itSMF is the only internationally recognised and independent organisation dedicated to IT service management and at the conference it aims to bring together service management experts with a focus to provide an understanding for effectively resolving issues related to IT Service Management (ITSM) implementation in the region.
Bjarne Rasmussen, Secretary of the itSMF - Middle East chapter will be a keynote speaker addressing best practices in IT service management. He will be joined by leading industry experts on service management including Madeleine Barnard, Director of itSMF South Africa and Principal Consultant with Foster-Melliar, South Africa; Hanan Askalan, CIO with Dubai International Financial Centre (DIFC); and Dr Hosam Jubara, IT Consultant - Strategy and Plans with Mobile Telecommunication Company (MTC), Kuwait.
The newly released IT service management standard ISO 20000 and the integration of the standard with the information security standard ISO 27000 will be amongst the highlights of the event. Regional and international case studies from renowned organisations such as Al Rajhi Bank, Wipro Technologies, Doha Bank, Al Tayer Group will be presented. The aforementioned organisations have been recognised specifically for their IT service management and ITIL initiatives.
In an exclusive interview with one of the main speakers of the conference, Dr Abdullah Abonamah, Professor and Director of Zayed University's Institute of Technological Innovation, commented:
