Banker Middle East recognizes NBAD for the Best Use of Technology among Middle East banks

National Bank of Abu Dhabi won the 'Best Use of Technology' award at the Banker Middle East Awards for Excellence ceremony held recently at the Ritz Carlton hotel in Manama.

Instituted by the Banker Magazine (a Financial Times publication) this award is ranked as an industry benchmark, conferred by an independent jury of international financial experts based upon overall organizational performance.

"National Bank of Abu Dhabi is greatly honoured to receive this award, which is recognition for what has been achieved, as well as an encouragement to continue aspiring towards higher goals. Such awards provide an effective framework for excellence in the financial sector and promote best practices. We are grateful to Banker Middle East for providing this platform to the banking community in the region,"


stated Qamber Ali Al Mulla, General Manager, International Banking Division, National Bank of Abu Dhabi.

NBAD set a new UAE record in financial performance at the end of 2005 by achieving a net profit of AED 2.58 billion. Winner of the Sheikh Khalifa Excellence Gold Award and the Dubai Quality Award for excellence, the bank also received the 'Best Bank in UAE' awards from Euromoney and Banker publications during 2005, which reaffirmed NBAD's position as the Number One bank in the UAE.

"We attribute our success to our people, our customers and our effective strategic planning process. The Banker Middle East award brings with it fresh challenges for us. We realise the importance of being an effective role model and industry leader and are committed to maintaining the high standards expected by all our stakeholders.
