The training focused on new software called JAWS, which enables computer trainers to optimally utilize the IT lab offered by the project, ensuring further efficiency and better outcome of the process.
Training held by Mr. Kamal Assaf from MeDialog S.A.L. Company in Beirut Lebanon, the provider of new software that helps enhance the learning process.
The training program is part of Coca-Cola's continuous efforts to keep up with the latest advances in the field of technology and harness cutting-edge software to serve the Jordanian students targeted by schools.com.
Mr. Assaf explained that his company has developed the JAWS for Windows Arabic Application, which, he said, is the most popular screen reader worldwide. JAWS for Windows works with PC to provide access to up-to-date software applications and the Internet, he said.
'We at MeDialog feel privileged that Coca-Cola has selected us to provide the product and training in this outstanding project, which I, as an expert, believe would have a great positive influence on the children who benefit from Schools.com,' Assaf said.
Principal of Abdullah bin Maktoom School Majed Majdobe said, 'During my work as the principal of this school, I have been witness to Coca-Cola's great interest in updating the facilities it installed in my school. My students are always hungry for more experiences under this pioneering initiative. And the training of trainers on new software is the best way to ensure a continued process of effective learning, especially when it has to do with the ever changing IT subject.'
A contribution by Coca-Cola to the Jordanian community, Schools.com was inaugurated in 2001 by Her Majesty Queen Rania Al Abdullah and received the direct attention by His Excellency Dr. Khaled Toukan, Minister of Education.
The project is a long-term initiative in which Coca-Cola Middle East has equipped 15 public schools with the necessary modern tools. The project targets students of younger age groups, especially those in the elementary classes, because teaching basic computer skills at an early age can have the greatest impact on their educational prospects and their interaction with all types of modern technology.
