DTCM adds fresh impetus to overseas promotional drive

The Dubai Department of Tourism and Commerce Marketing (DTCM) is adding fresh impetus to its overseas promotional campaign with its participation at the forthcoming Worldwide Exhibition for Incentive Travel, Meeting and Events (IMEX 2006) in Frankfurt, Germany scheduled to be held between May 30 and June 1.
This is the fourth year of participation for the DTCM at IMEX 2006. In 2005, a record 3,000 visitors attended the event from 140 countries worldwide setting a global benchmark for global meetings, incentives travel and events industry exhibition.
Germany is one of the key source markets for Dubai with the total number of German hotel guests to Dubai standing at 264,298.
The DTCM's overseas promotional drive will be further strengthened by the Paris roadshow scheduled for June 2, 2006. The roadshow and workshop is targeted at more than 200 trade and travel professionals including tour operators, meetings, incentives, conferences and exhibitions (MICE) industry professionals, meeting planners, corporate representatives, media personnel and travel agents.
A special feature of the workshop will be the presentation of an award for the "Best Co-participants Workshop Presentation" and a decision about the winner will be taken after considering the different workshop tables. One-to-one meetings will be conducted between the DTCM delegation and local media personnel during course of the roadshow.
France is yet another crucial market for Dubai with the year 2005 showing a 23 per cent increase in the number of French visitors to Dubai.
