Emirates and JAL have expanded their existing code share agreement between Japan and Dubai. Passengers from Dubai can access important Japanese cities such as Nagoya and Osaka with non-stop direct flights on Emirates, and fly onwards to Tokyo, Sapporo and Fukuoka on JAL.
From 1st June, the code share agreement allows JAL to place its flight code on round trip flights operated by Emirates between Dubai International Airport and Nagoya's Chubu International Airport, popularly known as Centrair. On this day, Emirates will launch direct non-stop services four times a week - every Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday - between the two airports, expanding into a daily operation from 1st July.

The expanded arrangements include JAL's domestic flights to and from two important cities - Fukuoka in the south and Sapporo in the north of Japan.

Both airlines' passengers will benefit immensely with the expansion and strengthening of its code share partnership, as they are now presented with a bouquet of choices and access to an extensive and convenient network both internally in Japan and internationally. The new code share flights will enhance access to trade, business and tourism between the Middle East and important economic centres within Japan, and prove to be a win-win deal for both Emirates and JAL.

Currently, the two airlines code share on Emirates' daily non-stop service between Osaka's Kansai International Airport and Dubai, as well as on JAL's domestic flights operating between Osaka and Tokyo, Sapporo and Fukuoka.

In addition to the code share flights, JAL and Emirates' frequent flyer programs (FFPs) are intrinsically linked, enabling members of Emirates' Skywards and JAL Mileage Bank (JMB) to earn miles on each other's flights, which can be redeemed for free flights on both airlines' networks.

Tickets for the new code share flights are now available through ticketing and retail channels.

With over two million inhabitants, Nagoya is Japan's fourth most populated city and also the capital of its Aichi Prefecture. Located in the Central Region, which plays a primary role in Japanese industry, the city serves as the home base to some of the best known brands in automobiles and consumer goods.
