- United Arab Emirates: Tuesday, May 23 - 2006 at 16:45
- PRESS RELEASE
Underlining Novell's commitment to promoting technology innovation worldwide, Novell EMEA President Thomas Francese today arrived in the UAE
Novell has helped organisations worldwide leverage identity management to control user access to sensitive data and meet complex regulatory and compliance requirements. In the Middle East, Dubai International Financial Centre Authority (DIFCA) is setting an example by using Novell technology to support its security, corporate governance and regularity requirements.
During his visit, Francese, a 30-year industry veteran, and DIFC CIO Hanan Askalan, reviewed DIFCA's recent adoption of NovellŪ Identity Manager, an integral part of the DIFCA long-term IT roadmap to implement an identity-based strategy to govern all business services between the DIFC and its affiliates and community companies. With the first phase of implementation completed, Novell and DIFC are now developing the next steps in the project.
"Novell has helped financial organizations worldwide leverage identity management to control user access to sensitive data and meet complex regulatory and compliance requirements," said Francese.
"DIFC is a global trend-setter in its use of identity management. By integrating an identity-based approach into every aspect of the business, from single sign-on to integration with corporate planning systems to physical security, DIFC has leveraged technology extremely well to support its strategic objectives."
