  • PRESS RELEASE

HH Lt General Sheikh Saif Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Minister of Interior and Vice Chairman of EIDA, launched the official website of the Emirates Identity Authority (EIDA).

EIDA is responsible for implementing the national ID Card and Population Register projects, which are considered as two of the most advanced IT projects in the Middle East.

"Launching the website is important, as it mirrors the rapid growth of the country. This would never happen without the true and thoughtful guidance HH General Sheikh Mohammad Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces, and Chairman of EIDA,"
HH Lt General Sheikh Saif said.

"The website embodies our vision of implementing the most advanced technologies and utilizing them to facilitate the services we offer to all who live in this land. With the ID Card and Population Register in place, as well as other e-services, the country will be enhanced, "he added.

Mohammad H Al Shamsi, Director of Marketing and Population Services at EIDA expressed EIDA's excitement over the launch of the website, as it stands as an essential step in enhancing the services of EIDA. The website also has an interactive nature. It aims at communicating with all members of the public, both citizens and expatriates, and provides information and education about the projects, programs and services the authority is offering or plans to offer soon in the project implementation phase. This will further raise public awareness of EIDA's programs and services.

The website includes comprehensive information about the importance of the ID Card and Population Register. The website also contains a Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ's) link. Other e-services on the website are still under development. However, the website includes a registration form, which can be easily downloaded. Following completion of this form by a registrant, it must be submitted to a registration center, where EIDA employees will review it and perform accuracy checks as part of the registration procedures.
