GOIC studies Performing Strategic Industrial Researches with UNIDO

Within the framework of the technical cooperation between the Gulf Organization for Industrial Consulting (GOIC) and the United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO), in Vienna the capital city of Austria, where they met H.E. Mr. Kandeh Yumkella, UNIDO Secretary General and technical programs' managers in UNIDO.

The visit targets strengthening technical cooperation between GOIC and UNIDO represented in exchanging expertise as well as performing joint studies specially on the strategies of industry, environment management and evaluating the environmental effects in addition to transferring technologies; developing exports specially the products of SMEs; and promoting industrial investment - specially in joint investment in SMEs through UNIDO offices in France and United Kingdom.

GOIC is currently executing, in cooperation with the UNIDO, the second phase of subcontracting and partnership exchange program which include technical cooperation in the field of transferring and evaluating technologies; financial analysis of industrial projects besides industrial investment promotion.

H.E. Dr. Lulwa Abdullah Al Misned, Assistant Secretary General for Industrial Research & Investment Promotion, welcomed H.E. Jeremy Broyer, the Austrian new ambassador to Qatar, in GOIC premises. In their meeting, the two parties discussed the economic relations between Austria and GCC member states. During his visit, H.E. the Ambassador was given an idea about the services which GOIC provides for the Gulf industrial sector and its role in developing the industry and economy of GCC member states. The presentation also explored GOIC programs and activities. Besides, the two parties exchanged their views regarding the horizons of cooperation between GOIC and the related parties in Austria with similar tendencies and programs.

A delegation from GOIC headed by H.E. Dr. Lulwa Al Misned had a visit to Queensland, Austria where the delegation discussed potential cooperation in the fields of industrial development and SMEs programs.
