Using IBM's Service Oriented Architecture (SOA) based WebSphere solutions for 'Integrated e-Government', government agencies such as the CIO can be integrated to simplify the exchange of information between ministries and agencies. As a result they can improve business processes by having the ability to identify and rectify problem areas through modeling potential solutions, and they can monitor the impact of any changes against pre-agreed key performance indicators.
"The GBM and IBM presentations, demonstrations and case studies of successes in other parts of the world underscored how IBM e-government solutions are helping governments link their business processes to enable consistent services across agency boundaries while providing citizens with a more user-friendly view of services,"
said Abdulla Ishaq, General Manager of Bahrain Business Machines (BBM), GBM's operation in the Kingdom.
The event took place at the Ritz Carlton Hotel & Spa.
