  • PRESS RELEASE

In line with its foreign marketing policy which aims at reaching business and investment communities in their home countries, RAK Free Zone launched, for the third consecutive time, a campaign in the Syrian cities of Damascus and Aleppo in addition to a visit to the Turkish city of Istanbul.

These two countries were selected in light of the significant increase in the number of Syrian and Turkish investors in RAK Free Zone in recent years.

In this respect, Mr. Oussama Al Omari, Director General of RAK Free Zone Authority commented on these visits saying:

"Visits to Syria and Turkey are in line with the marketing policy laid by RAK Free Zone for the current year. It complements the series of events we carried out in German, Lebanon, India and other countries with which the RAK Free Zone had common economic interests."

In Syria, the RAK Free Zone marketing delegation invited the members of the business community who are interested in expanding and investing in RAK Free Zone. The delegation also visited the UAE Embassy in Damascus and met with the Ambassador as well as the Chairman and members of Aleppo Chamber of Industry.

In Turkey, RAK FTZ delegation visited the Istanbul Chamber of Commerce and held meetings with the Turkish business community. The meetings were attended by a number of businessmen, members of the Chamber of Commerce along with representatives of the Consulate General of the UAE in Istanbul.

Mr. Al Omari commented: "In the last six years we were able to attract a large number of companies from various countries worldwide from the different economic sectors. They chose RAK Free Zone as their regional headquarters to strengthen their operations in the Middle East. Among these companies is 'Azzooz Group', the winner of several awards such as the Millennium and Paris Star awards. The group started in Aleppo, but with the increased demand of its products worldwide it opened many branches in different countries. We expect that our foreign campaigns will contribute to spreading awareness about RAK Free Zone worldwide and attract more world-class companies into the Zone."
