Enabling subscribers to access conferencing and voice over IP functionality as well as music and video applications from devices that are increasingly mobile brings the reality of MOTOwi4 WiMAX solutions to consumers across the country.

'As users increasingly expect broadband access wherever they choose to work or play, the requirements for bandwidth are outpacing revenue growth. Motorola's MOTOwi4TM solutions portfolio including WiMAX help people keep in touch with content and information-voice, e-mail, the Internet, audio/video streaming, and music download features-wherever they are,'

said Kirkaldy.

Motorola is acting as a key sponsor in the 8th Arab Telecoms and Internet conference, being held under the High Patronage of H.E. Sheikh Mohammed Bin Abdulla Al-Harthy, Minister of Transport & Communications, Sultanate of Oman.

Bringing together industry leaders from across the region, the conference will provide delegates the opportunity to discuss the state of the telecoms sector in the region, before looking in more detail towards technologies that can be harnessed to drive further growth.

The conference will be held on the 24th and 25th of May at the Shangri-La Hotel in Muscat.
