In collaboration with Intel, Egyptian software vendor Information Systems International Service (ISIS) has launched their new solution as part of a consumer promotion in Egypt - bundled with an affordable PC as part of 'Intel's Discover the PC Initiative'. Plans to roll out this product to other selected Arabic speaking markets to lower-income communities who would not otherwise have access to technology, are underway.

'It gives us great pleasure to be a part of the launch of the world's first Arabic desktop search software, developed by ISIS. Intel has played a key role in providing Arabic content to PC users and we have been working closely with local governments, software developers and integrators. Modelled on the lines of Google and other search engines, this solution promises unlimited support to Arab computer users. With its simple and easy-to-use interface, it will prove to be invaluable as an initiation tool for new Arabic PC users,'

said Karim Fahmy, Regional Manager for Intel Egypt, Levant & North Africa.

According to Alaa Al-Agamawi, the CEO of ISIS, 'Our Arabic desktop search solution is built on our solid Arabic search engine tools and our long track history and experience in the field of Arabic linguistics technology since 1984. Consumers are already familiar with our numerous Arabic linguistics engines which were the first of its kind since introducing to the local, regional and international markets the first ever Arabic Spell Checker since 1989, and we envisage that large numbers of users will find this solution a welcome addition to their every day professional and personal lives through the use of powerful Arabic search capabilities and features including the Arabic morphological analyzer based search.'

The ISIS solution has been optimised with the assistance of Intel Software Solution Group's local application engineers, and enables both Intel Hyper Threading and Dual Core platforms - recording a performance increase of up to 30 per cent. The solution deploys Intel C++ Compilers, VTune performance analysis and Intel Premiere Provider library.
