UAE National Ibrahim Nassir takes reins of DUBAL's Human Resources & Organization Effectiveness Dept

The promotion is in line with the vision of His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Deputy Ruler of Dubai, the UAE Minister for Finance and Industry, and Chairman of DUBAL, to develop a high-caliber & stronger quality national workforce in the UAE in general and at DUBAL in particular.

Mr. Abdullah Kalban, Chief Executive Officer, DUBAL, said:

'Nassir is an excellent addition to the talented and committed DUBAL management team which consists of many world-class skilled personnel. We are sure Nassir will impart the same devotion and commitment he has been showing so far. We are happy to give him the additional responsibility as he enjoys the required qualifications and experience to match the high demands of such a position.'

Ibrahim Nassir, who holds a Bachelor's Degree in Business Management & Organization Effectiveness from the University of Miami, joined DUBAL in 2000. He is currently a Board Member of the Institute of Applied Technology, Board Member of Dubai Human Resources Forum and an Alumni member of IMD.

Mr. Nassir joined DUBAL as Head of Succession Planning & Nationalisation, Training & Development. In October 2001, he became the Sales Manager, Middle East, Europe & Mediterranean, Marketing & Sales Department. In February 2004, he became the Manager, Organization Development & Personnel Administration, the post he held till his recent promotion.

'This is a great gesture on the part of the DUBAL management and I am honoured to accept this responsibility. From my new position, I will discharge my duties with sincerity and commitment as before and will take qualitative measures to add to the reputation of Dubal,' Mr. Nassir said.

DUBAL has been in the forefront in recognizing talents and providing jobs that match the skills and qualification of every personnel, especially UAE nationals. Currently among DUBAL's total workforce, over 25 per cent are UAE nationals who work in many different areas throughout the smelter. UAE Nationals already account for over 67 per cent of senior management positions.
