Etisalat Academy and Huawei sign Training Agreement

The Etisalat Academy, a business unit of Emirates Telecommunications Corporation-Etisalat, signed an agreement with Huawei Technologies Co. Ltd.

Ali Mohammed Al Sharid, Chief Executive Officer, Etisalat Services, signed the agreement with Wang Jiading, Executive Vice President - Middle East and Northern Africa, Huawei. Etisalat Academy instructors will undergo an initial training in China as a to prepare and equip them for the training sessions to be done in Dubai.

Ali Mohammed Al Sharid said, 'Etisalat is pleased that Huawei requested the Etisalat Academy as its training centre. The Huawei executives were fascinated with the full state-of-the-art facilities and resources that the Academy has to offer. This training agreement will be crucial training program for both Huawei and the Academy.'

Dr. Doaa Fares, General Manager, Etisalat Academy said, 'An expected 700 trainees will commence a 63 day training program this year. As the years progress classes and trainees are will increase, with 950 trainees participating in an 82 class program in 2007, and with 1100 trainees partaking in a 93 class program in 2008.'

Wang Jiading said, 'Huawei is pleased to launch such an agreement with a strategic partner like Etisalat, represented by the Etisalat Academy which is considered to be a hub of excellence regionally and internationally.' He also added, 'This agreement comes in line with the increasing demand on our modern network systems by telecom service providers from all over the region, and Etisalat Academy will play a vital role in fulfilling our increasing number of contracts.'
