- PRESS RELEASE
High level officials of the Ar-Riyadh Development Authority (ADA), the executive branch of the High Commission for the Development of Ar-Riyadh, who visited the Emirates Driving Institute (EDI), were greatly impressed by the quality of training and the infrastructure provided by the premier institute.
The High Commission for the Development of Ar-Riyadh has been established for the development of economic, social, cultural, architectural and environmental aspects of the historic Saudi Arabian capital. The commission is also responsible for drawing policies and procedures that will raise the efficiency of services and facilities connected with the city of Riyadh, thereby increasing the living standards of citizens.
The visiting officials were given a warm welcome by EDI Managing Director Amer Ahmed Belhasa. They were later taken around on a tour of the EDI facilities including the yard, lecture room and simulators.
The ADA officials were amazed by the spacious lecture room where students are taught the rudiments of safe driving with the help of audio-visual aids and detailed training modules. They were also impressed by simulators which require students to react to road and traffic situations through a virtual interface. The purpose of the visit was to learn from EDI's wide experience and to see how it was developing rapidly like the city of Dubai.
Established in 1991, EDI pioneered the spirit of safe motoring through incorporation of international teaching methods and responsible driving strategies. A recipient of Dubai Quality Award, EDI strongly believes that excellence is attained through periodic evaluations and acquisition of knowledge and technology.
