New GM of National Financial Services at National Bank of Dubai

National Bank of Dubai today announced the appointment of Abdulfattah Sharaf, as General Manager, of the National Financial Services.

He will be managing the brokerage firm, responsible for trading and Operational issues, business development, and system related enhancements.

An expert in the banking field, Abdulfattah first joined National Bank of Dubai in 1995 where he worked in the Bank's Operation and Electronic Banking Department, supervising inward and outward risk evaluation for card and merchant acquiring. He was promoted to Manager Customer Service in 1997 where his responsibilities included strengthening the Bank's services, while enhancing and maintaining customer relations.

In 2001, he took the reins of NBD's Cards Business and was responsible for all product development and system related enhancements in addition to sharpening the sales and marketing structure through a vibrant card customer base and a widespread ATM network.

During his time with NBD, Abdulfattah spent the last few years developing the bank's business identity emphasizing on quality assets and earning growth. Moreover, he played an important role in reinforcing and implementing successful strategies in various sectors.

Commenting on his appointment, Abdulfattah said,

"National Bank of Dubai has been an intrinsic part of the regional banking industry stretching back to 1963 and has witnessed amazing growth in the business over the past few years. I am honored and excited to take on this new role and look forward to the many opportunities that lie ahead of us."


The appointment of Mr. Abdulfattah comes also as an integral part of NBD's emiratisation strategy to train, develop and promote young UAE talents within the bank. Currently around 33% of the bank's employees are UAE nationals including 38% of the senior management level.
