Emirates launches Summer Surprises packages

  • United Arab Emirates: Sunday, May 28 - 2006 at 13:58
  • PRESS RELEASE

The Dubai Summer Surprises are around the corner once again and Emirates' passengers worldwide can look forward to weeks of fun and excitement with exceptional value-for-money packages.

Valid from 21st June until 1st September 2006, the packages offer customers a choice of 22 city and beach hotels in various price-brackets and are available to all Emirates passengers regardless of class of travel. Prices are on a per-person per-night sharing basis and include all accommodation-related taxes and service charges. Passengers must book for a minimum stay of three nights, but have an option to extend.

As an added attraction, Emirates this year has tied up with Wafi City, one of Dubai's premier malls, to offer customers exclusive discounts at the mall's stores, coffee shops and restaurants. To facilitate this, discount voucher booklets will be provided to passengers as part of the Arabian Adventures Welcome pack.

Wafi City is a destination in itself with world-class shopping, restaurants and cafes, an extensive leisure club, Dubai's liveliest nightlife and a stunning spa resort. Visitors are sure to enjoy the rooftop gardens and architecture inspired by ancient Egypt.

Every year, DSS is centred around malls, each of which are themed. Wafi City's theme this year is motor sports. Visitors will see a thrilling display of Formula One cars including the Emirates-sponsored McLaren-Mercedes MP4/21 show car at the mall.

A prime attraction will be the large six-lane Scalextric model electric car racing track specially set up for the Wafi City Summer Surprises Grand Prix. Qualifying rounds for this will take place throughout the DSS.

A Limited Edition Jeep and a Dodge are up for grabs in the male and female categories respectively.

Ghaith Al Ghaith, Executive Vice President Commercial Operations Worldwide, said:

"Emirates has put together these unbeatable packages as part of our worldwide drive to bring more overseas visitors to Dubai. DSS 2006 promises lots of fun and frolic, not to mention never-before shopping bargains. We have been sponsoring the event since its inception in 1998, re-enforcing our commitment to Dubai's trade and tourism initiatives."

Emirates flies to over 80 destinations in more than 55 countries and is promoting the event worldwide with a full-scale PR and advertising campaign.
