Welcare engages students with educational excursion at its Ambulatory Care Center
- United Arab Emirates: Monday, May 29 - 2006 at 10:05
- PRESS RELEASE
Welcare Ambulatory Care Center today welcomed 25 students from Dubai Modern High School to see first-hand the inner workings of a state-of-the-art health care facility with a tour of the clinic located in Dubai Knowledge Village.
Dr. Uchil also gave the students a brief but informative lecture on the topic of Health and Diseases. The students were allowed to see all the different service locations and facilities within the clinic, including the Outpatient Clinics, Accident and Emergency, Operation Theatre, Intensive Care Center, Radiology and the Laboratory. They also were able to meet with various members of Welcare's staff who explained to them the intricacies of running a day care facility.
"We at Modern High always believe in providing our students with as much hands on experience as possible. The trip to the Welcare Ambulatory Care Centre was an eye opener for our boys, who got first hand knowledge about all the latest developments in the field of medicine. I am sure this visit has been an enriching experience, which no amount of reading on the subject, could possibly provide," said Mr.Darryl Bloud Principal of Dubai Modern High School.
Dr. Sumedha Sahni, Director of Quality Assurance and Head of Satellite Centers, Welcare World Health Systems, added, "We hope the students will see that not all hospital stays entail weeks or months of recovery after a procedure, but at places like the Ambulatory Care Center, a patient can receive the highest quality that can be provided in a few hours, even a sophisticated surgical procedure not requiring hospitalization , and be back on his or her feet within a few hours.
'But even more importantly, this type of community outreach will give students the fundamental and practical knowledge to understand the healthcare services better and to be motivated into leading healthy and productive lives.'
