Symantec Vision 2006 focuses on convergence

  • United Arab Emirates: Monday, May 29 - 2006 at 10:38
  • PRESS RELEASE

The trends towards convergence and the importance of technology as a business decision will be discussed at the ninth annual technology conference Symantec Vision 2006.

Over 500 delegates from Symantec's channel partner organisations, enterprise and SMB clients will gather for the conference to be held at the Madinat Jumeirah Conference Centre, Dubai on 5th June 2006.

The conference will focus on the theme of 'Infrastructure, Information and Interaction', with a series of interactive sessions covering a range of topics, including convergence, standardisation, internet security, cyber-crime, IT optimization, email security and availability, compliance and data management.

Symantec will also unveil its IT Compliance solution, a broad set of interoperable security and availability products and services that allow customers to reduce the costs of achieving compliance by automating: policy management, IT controls assessment, collection of data from disparate IT control points, policy enforcement and documentation retention.

This IT Compliance solution positions Symantec as the only company that automates the collection of data from disparate IT control points, including security and availability products, to provide an organization with a consolidated view of its IT compliance systems and policies.

Kevin Isaac, Regional Director, Symantec MENA will open the proceedings with a keynote speech on convergence and its main drivers at 9:15am. The presentation will detail the growing need and customer demand for convergence of network management with systems and storage management and describe information security strategies leveraging all three disciplines to effectively maintain the integrity of hardware and software assets.

"Today's companies need a broad set of solutions designed to create a trusted environment, free of risks to security, availability, compliance, and performance,' said Kevin Isaac. 'Symantec is delivering on all these fronts working with the customers to ensure that IT solutions deliver on critical business needs.'

"Vision 2006 in Dubai will provide us with a perfect platform to gain valuable time with customers and prospects to explain how security and availability are crucial for businesses today and how choosing a trusted partner like Symantec can help any business on the road to success," he added.

Other senior executives from Symantec will be joining the above including Gary Sevounts, Senior Director, Power and Energy Solutions. Vision 2006 will also host representatives from its two Gold Sponsors. Gavin Keeler, Regional Director of Network Appliance who will talk about storage back up and DR solutions; followed by David Beck, Storage Sales Manager, Middle East and Africa for Sun Microsystems who will tackle the issues of data management and security.
