SafeWord SecureWire acts as the access, authentication and compliance hub for the organisation's entire network. It is designed to simplify access to applications, data and network resources without compromising on security. It does this by hosting and managing all external and internal access methods such as VPNs, Citrix applications, extranets, Web mail, LAN connections, wireless LANs and even mainframes, on a single appliance.

Sami Mulla, Director, Middle East, Secure Computing said:

"Security of information assets is a paramount concern among organisations in the Middle East. Secure Computing's new SafeWord SecureWire appliance provides a comprehensive and powerful solution for regional companies looking for easy-to-deploy, cost-effective means of streamlining the way in which access is provided to their networks."

SafeWord SecureWire strengthens network connectivity with strong, one time password user authentication included in the base product to deliver proof-positive identity of all users. It also provides native support for Active Directory, LDAP (Lightweight Directory Access Protocol) and RADIUS (Remote Authentication Dial-In User Service) while supporting a wide range of authenticators, including smart cards, biometric devices and a range of third-party tokens.

"SafeWord SecureWire offers a single secure appliance for access management and keeps up with Secure Computing's tradition of providing the most powerful security products. With tight integration to Active Directory, the new appliance is ideally suited for the growing number of organisations that manage IT in a Microsoft environment and allows companies to easily manage user identities by leveraging their existing Microsoft tools and applications," Mulla added.

Providing a reliable mechanism to enable configuration compliance, SafeWord SecureWire enforces every end-point device to adhere to corporate IT policy, including work PCs, laptops, home PCs, servers and workstations. The appliance grants access only to properly configured, properly secured devices, making sure that system patches, anti-virus software and firewall protection are all in place.

SecureWire is designed to simplify access, management, and compliance for any organisation, ranging from small, single site businesses to branch offices, small and large enterprises and can support from 100 to 2,500 concurrent users.

"The launch of SafeWord SecureWire will contribute to the growth of Secure Computing in the Middle East's dynamic market. Combined with our Sidewinder G2 and SnapGear line of UTM appliance solutions, the company is uniquely positioned in offering premier solutions for extending and defending customer's networks and applications in the fast-growing region," Mulla concluded.
