"We are proud that we can make a difference and give back to the community. Offering Special Care Center the charity collected from the website is a moral obligation." Amer Sharaf, Managing Director of The Hub.
The spokesperson for the Special Care Centre, Gillian O'Farrell, said, "We are delighted to have been chosen by thehub.ae as the nominated charity. 5% of the proceeds will enable us to sponsor at least 2 children in the school for one year".
"This is fantastic news for the Special Care Centre, the proceeds from thehub.ae will enable the centre to use the money for the children's education. The centre has a mix of various nationalities & relies heavily on donations and fund raising to run the school. This is a great initiative & we'd encourage businesses to use this website, which in turn is helping a good cause."
The Special Care Centre (SCC) was inaugurated in 1989 under the patronage of HH Sheikha Fatima Bint Mubarak, wife of HH Sheikh Zayed Bin Sultan Al Nahyan, the late President of the UAE. The aim was to provide educational and developmental service to the physically and mentally challenged children. The SCC which started with just 10 children as its beneficiaries now looks after 70 children of various nationalities. The SCC enrolls children with the conditions of Down Syndrome, Cerebral Palsy, Autism, Delayed Development and Intellectually impairment.
The main aim of the Special Care Centre is to provide comprehensive educational, therapeutic, self-help, social and vocational skills to mentally and physically challenged children. The curriculum has been designed to meet the needs of children with educational sub normalities and slow learners.
Besides the Million Dirham Webpage, the Hub is also promising to launch a number of new business services one of which is a business guide and directory, both online and published.
