- United Arab Emirates: Wednesday, May 31 - 2006 at 14:43
- PRESS RELEASE
Five well-known UAE artists and three artists from the region are showcasing some of their prized paintings in the Good Heart Exhibition from 29 May to 4 June at the iconic Emirates Palace.
Established in 1989 under the patronage of H.H. Sheikha Fatima Bint Mubarak, the Abu Dhabi Special Care Centre is engaged in the rehabilitation of children with special needs in the hope of integrating them eventually to mainstream society. The local artists have generously donated their paintings to help support the Centre's medical, dental and therapy services.
Speaking on behalf of the fund raising committee of the Special Care Centre, Isabelle Le Bon, said, "With this modest contribution, this will be able to make a difference in the life of a special child, and hopefully inspire others to help enable the Abu Dhabi Special Care Centre to look after the welfare of many more children with special needs."
Emirates Palace is sponsoring the made-for-charity event in support of the Special Care Centre's various welfare programs benefiting children with special needs. "The Emirates Palace is not only an ardent patron of the arts, but also a concerned member of the community. We are grateful for the opportunity to help the Abu Dhabi Special Care Centre, and we are delighted to have obtained the support of local artists," said Noel Massoud, General Manager, Emirates Palace.
As a responsible corporate citizen, Emirates Palace maintains an active corporate social responsibility program, which supports charitable organizations that provide meaningful social services to the marginalized sectors of society. Style Gallery, a high end jewellery and watch retail outlet located at the Emirates Palace, is also supporting the event.
"We would like to thank the artists and the Emirates Palace for their generous support. Their invaluable contribution will go a long way not only in helping enhance our intervention programs to rehabilitate the children under care, but also in increasing public awareness about the plight of children with special needs," said Abdul Karim Mohammed, member of the fundraising committee, Abu Dhabi Special Care Centre.
The Special Care Centre is much grateful and thankful to His Excellency Salah Al Shamsi for his support and his presence for the inauguration of the Good-Heart exhibition.
The featured masterpieces have varying price tags, ranging from AED3,000 to AED 100,000.
