Gulf Air appoints new Vice President for Information Technology

Gulf Air has announced the appointment of Pauric Doyle as the new Vice President Information Technology.
In his new position he is hoping to provide new thrust to Gulf Air's well established IT infrastructure through his strong technical background and commercial acumen gained over the years.
Rising from the ranks of Air Lingus, Dublin, where he joined as a senior programmer and worked in various capacities, Mr Doyle moved to the Emirates Group, Dubai in 1998 as senior IS Manager, where he is now VP Technology Services.
Coming originally from an application development background he has progressed rapidly to a senior management level, amassing skills in software development, business analysis, project and programme management, all of which has involved managing large teams of both technical and business staff.
Mr Doyle has vast experience in planning, implementing and delivering successfully a sophisticated and complex IT portfolio.
During his tenure with the Emirates Group Mr Doyle introduced major changes and upgrades to the organisation's IT infrastructure, which resulted in significant cost savings to the airline.
"We are delighted to welcome on board Pauric," says Gulf Air President and Chief Executive James Hogan. "He is well qualified and experienced and, understands clearly how technology can support and lead the commercial activities of a major airline operation, which is quite complex."

Hailing from Ireland, Mr Doyle has a bachelor degree in Economics and French from University College, Galway and a graduate diploma in Applied Computing from University of Limerick. He has also studied for his MBA at University College, Dublin.
