DTCM's role at IMEX 2006 praised by co-participants

The exhibition started at the Messe Frankfurt on May 30 for a three-day run and the DTCM has succeeded in capitalising on its global outreach to attract greater number of tourists and business travellers to Dubai.

Ms. Petra Hedorfer, Chief Executive Officer of the German National Tourist Board, who visited the DTCM stand said:: "I am pleased that the relationship between Germany and Dubai is developing in such a positive way. At the moment, we have double digit growth rates from Dubai to Germany, and we are happy to welcome many friends from Dubai and the other emirates for the World Cup. I congratulate Dubai on its unrivalled success. It is a truly fascinating destination with an outstanding service quality."

Several of the 46 co-participants who are sharing the 351 of sq.mts space and 36 booths at the Dubai stand have come out in praise of the DTCM's efforts to showcase Dubai's MICE facilities in front of a global audience.

Mr. Omar Alshamsi, Chief of Public Relations & Protocol, Dubai Naturalisation and Residency Department said : "This is the first year we are participating at IMEX and we have a special offer of free-e-Gate cards for all visitors. Daily we are issuing more than 40 e-Gate cards. E-Gate is vital for people who come to Dubai in the morning and leave in the afternoon the same day - they can not really make it without an e-Gate card."

Mr. Amit Arora, Director of Sales and Marketing Ritz Carlton said : "We are joining the IMEX for the fourth time. IMEX is the most important fair as it takes place in Germany, one of our key markets. The fair is well structured, it is easy to agree on dates and keep them. The service provided by the DTCM has been outstanding."

Mr. Fayez Salla Al Nusari, Business Development Manager, 1001 Events described IMEX as a leading travel show for the MICE industry. "The DTCM stands out in design and the service is excellent. Everything is well organised and gives us a perfect platform to do business"

Ms Bojana Djuric, Manager MICE Al Kazemi Tours said : "We are joining IMEX for the first time and we are coming back again next year. Germany is one of the main markets to Dubai.
