DM Public Libraries announce summer activities 2006

Dubai Municipality's Public Libraries Section has announced the launch of its summer activities this year, which commences from today with the Faith Environs.

Mohammed Jassim Al Eraidi, Head of the Public Libraries Section said the summer activities for this year, to be held under the slogan "Enjoyable Summer for Creative Children" is divided into five environs starting from 3rd June and ending by 26th July. The Faith Environs will be followed by Art Environs, Food Environs, Colour Environs and Hobby Environs.

He said the summer activities this year are distinctively excellent for its varieties and standards. "The activities include lectures, courses and workshops held in an innovative environment that will bring out the best of talents from the child, in addition to contests and a lot of prizes," said Al Eraidi.

Ruqiya Hussain AbulHassan, Head of Children's Libraries Unit said that the five environs will be organized at the children's libraries of the Public Libraries Section and brochures detailing the programmes for each environs are being distributed through all the branch public libraries.

She said that at the end of all the environs, the Public Libraries Award for the Best Creative Child will be given for the children in the age group of 6-16 years.

AbulHassan said children would be received at the libraries at Hor Al Anz, Rashidiya, Safa and Hatta from 8.30 am to 1.30 pm and 3.30 pm to 8.30 pm from Saturday to Wednesday and in the mornings only on Thursdays.
