The Arabs are well-known throughout the world for their hospitality. Within a few weeks, families are to start arriving for the DSS2006 and the Welcome Committee comprising the DSS officials, Dubai Civil Aviation and Sama Dubai will be extending a traditional welcome for all who come through the Dubai International Airport to participate in this year's summer fiesta.

Visitors will be received in traditional flair where cups of Arabic coffee, dates and sweets will be made available in a special hospitality tent. They can also receive their copies of the printed theme guides for the week over there. Even while entering the airport, life size cut outs of the smiling mascot Modhesh will enchant young ones even as they step into DSS territory.

Said Ibrahim Saleh, DSS COO,
"The first families arriving at the beginning of every theme week will be afforded a 'kingly reception'. They will be lead into the VIP Lounge of Dubai airport where a prize package of up to Dh3000, covering the costs and gifts, will greet them along with a DSS gift hamper. What's more the taste of this hospitality continues till the very end when a Limo will pick and drop them off at the airport upon departure."

Added Abdulla Suwaidi, Manager Customer Service at Dubai International Airport and member of the Welcome Committee, "For us, the DSS is an important event and we continually try to devise new ways of affording an elaborate welcome to all our guests during their visit to Dubai especially during the 10 weeks of DSS.

"This year, greeting the young and the old will be decorative stands, banners and stickers, confetti and the Modhesh statues all throughout the airport. DSS branding will also be seen via all the LCD screens displaying arrival and departure timings on which regularly DSS commercials will also be aired. These will create a real festive mood all throughout the airport so that visitors know they have come to the happiest summer fiesta in all of Arabia."

Truly a no-holds barred reception awaits all those who attend the ninth edition of DSS 2006. The excitement is almost palpable especially as the annual summer events coincides with the annual holidays in the region. Especially for all those who arrive to participate in the Heritage Surprises organised by the Dubai Customs there is truly much to look forward to.

The 10-week long DSS, which opens with Ice Surprises week on June 21, will continue with the weekly themes such as Arts Surprises, International Food Surprises, Adventure Surprises, Cartoon Surprises, Nature Surprises, Knowledge Surprises, Flower Surprises, Heritage Surprises and concludes with Back-to-School Surprises on September 1.
