The idea behind the proposition being to increase the 'Value-Add' offering as can be delivered by a joint Aptec/ATS initiative. This Aptec/ATS look to achieve by both growing the existing VAD offering and that of offering additional services in both a distribution and service environment. The approach being to allow Aptec to focus on its Distribution activities and the value-add components of developing market share, with ATS providing all technical value-added services and support to vendors and its channel partners.
This they believe was instrumental to them winning the recently awarded Sun Microsystems Software Solutions contract, which encompasses a detailed service component to that of just selling software.
Bahaa Salah, GM Aptec Distribution & Sales Director Aptec Group, commented on the announcement by saying, 'The VAS Proposition and the recent Sun announcement compliments the new organizational structure now being rolled out within Aptec Gulf and our drive towards developing the Enterprise market. This coupled with the agreement now reached with our sister company Advanced Technology Services (ATS), leaves us convinced that the combined strategies are a market winner and we are very excited as to the new approach.'
According to Jed Isbell, GM Advanced Technology Services (ATS) 'Following the formation of ATS it is befitting that we look to develop the strategy within Aptec Holdings to that of increasing its value-add offering associated with its companies. The VAS Proposition is the result of this dialogue and combines the experience and knowledge associated with 25 years of distribution within the region with that of a fully scoped service capability. A model, we believe, not previously seen within the region where we look providing both vendor and the channel with increased value-add activities in a combined distribution and service support environment.'
