Gulftainer honored by Tatweer Forum

Sharjah based Gulftainer Company Ltd, was recently honoured by the Sharjah Tatweer Forum, a medium established to broaden and strengthen ties between the Emirate of Sharjah's public and private sectors, in Business Administration and Project development, in an effort to boost the involvement and influence of Sharjah's young Nationals.

Gulftainer Co. Ltd, who are responsible for the management of two of Sharjah Port Authority's main modern Container Terminals and a major inland container depot, were recognized for their contribution and influence in the development of the emirate over the past 30 years. Accepting the award on behalf of Gulftainer was Peter Richards, Operations Manager.

"For our organization to accept this award is an honour". said Peter Richards. "Gulftainer has been operating since 1976 and since its inception the company has continuously had the Emirate of Sharjah at its heart. Our organisation has always endeavored to promote, strengthen and develop this emirate through our various business activities and we shall continue to do so."

The Sharjah based Container Terminal Management and Operations Company which is responsible for the management of Sharjah Container Terminal, the Middle East's first container terminal; Sharjah Inland Container Depot and Khorfakkan Container Terminal, the only natural deepwater port in the entire Gulf region is recognised as one of the region's most efficient and established Container Terminal operating companies.

The Sharjah Tatweer Forum was created in line with a decree issued by H.H. Sheikh Dr Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Ruler of Sharjah and Member of the UAE Supreme Council. The initiative has been fashioned and designed to expand the proficiency and competencies of the Emirati youth in Sharjah, build partnerships among the private and public sectors, support entrepreneurship, innovation and excellence in the business and administrative arenas and ensure the sustainable development and overall progress of the Emirate of Sharjah.
